My art is my muse speaking to the ones I love.
As an immigrant and proud product of two cultures, I believe my perspective on beauty and representation is necessary and valuable. I am an artist who blends multiple worlds into one.
Born in Durango, Mexico, I have been a resident of the United States since I was a toddler. My art reflecs my endless wonder.
Tangled in reality and fantasy. My life experiences blends multiple things into one cohesive project. Starting with sugar, my art has evolved — over the course of 200 paintings, I have worked with spray paint, clay, watercolor, acrylics, epoxy, modeling paste, and alcohol inks. I am also the author of three books, titled Self-Regard, Early Self-Regard, and I am… I can.
Art and words have inspired me to live a happier life, and I hope to convey that same message to those who view my work. I hope to encourage the public to imagine and anticipate their better selves, a better community, and ultimately, a more harmonious world.
Art renders sorrow beautifully. Art transforms despair into hope. Art captures our pain and delivers us from it. Art makes loneliness a shared experience. Art gives us a voice. Art helps us find our humanity. Art allows us to belong while we stand alone. Art interprets our inner voice. Art brings the mundane to a point of gratitude. Art re-examines our relationship with ourselves.
Art is storytelling.
